- Q: What equipment does a child need in order to play?
- A: He or she should have a game helmet and shoulder pads. Kids also need their own cleats, mouthguards and jerseys. Game jerseys and game pants are provided by the league, but players do need to have their own practice jerseys. Sporting goods stores carry all of the equipment that is needed.
- Q: What are the age divisions in Little League?
- A: There are three age ranges. The youngest players are called Bantams and are in 1st and 2nd grade. Next are the Minor leagues for 3rd and 4th graders. The Major league welcomes players in 5th and 6th grade. All divisions play tackle, and there are weight limits to protect smaller players. Those who are above the weight limit for their division can still play, but they are restricted to defensive positions.

- A: Players learn to tackle, block, run plays and throw the ball. They also practice rushing techniques and stances as well as discipline and teamwork. These are valuable skills that extend to future play in high school. Teamwork skills developed in Little League transfer to many other realms.
